Known for its hospitality and seemingly endless amounts of outdoor activities, the north shore of Lake Superior is a surprising hub for creative energy and progressive innovations. As the perfect place to start a blossoming new business, Epicurean made its home nestled on the charming Duluth–Superior harbor.
When you’re in the Epicurean compound it’s easy to see that the entire facility is a place of intention that leaves no stone unturned. From their front doors, to the people inside, the obvious passion of the team is reflected within everything they create. What started as an up-cycled project using excess building material to make a personal cutting board turned into the surprising success story behind Epicurean.
“For Epicurean, Richlite’s main benefits are (1) that it’s made in the USA, (2) that it’s dishwasher safe, and (3) it’s still soft enough that it’s easy on knives. For me, Richlite is a good quality material that has a very good feel and it’s easy to work with.”
Epicurean looked to Richlite’s paper fiber material to achieve durable, dishwasher safe and sustainable products. When asked what he loves about Richlite, Co-founder of Epicurean Dave Benson praises it’s machinability and feel. “For Epicurean, Richlite’s main benefits are (1) that it’s made in the USA, (2) that it’s dishwasher safe, and (3) it’s still soft enough that it’s easy on knives. Epicurean is passionate about creating kitchen tools made for everyday use. They chose Richlite material in order to bring durable, functional, and high quality tools into every home.
