Will water affect Stratum?

Where the bamboo is in constant contact with water, yes. We would not recommend Stratum around the sink.

Can you machine and engrave similar to standard Richlite?

Yes. Richlite Stratum machines similar, if not easier, to standard Richlite. Engraving patterns is especially beautiful due to the fact that Plyboo becomes exposed beneath the Richlite.

Are there extra environmental benefits using Stratum?

Along with all the current sustainable attributes with standard Richlite, Stratum adds another component of rapidly renewable fibers and soy-based adhesives.
