Take a look inside the world’s first net-zero wood truss airplane hangar, located in Concord, New Hampshire. Designed by SMP and built by Silver Maple Construction for United Therapeutics, the 36,000-square-foot structure features 210-foot clear-span glulam and steel roof trusses supported by 42-foot-tall glulam columns. The exterior is clad in Richlite, a naturally non-porous, FSC®-certified material known for its durability in harsh weather. Easily milled, Richlite was key to achieving the hangar’s signature curved facade.
