Built to withstand the demands of constant motion and shifting climates in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this mobile sauna was designed with both resilience and refined aesthetics in mind. The entire exterior and interior shelving are clad in Richlite, a durable, sustainable material known for its sleek, monochromatic finish. Designer Bridget Erickson explains their use of the Stratum collection, a look that sandwiches Baltic birch plywood between layers of Richlite which adds a unique visual dimension. By exposing the end grain of the plywood, they highlight its natural texture and create linear patterns that bring subtle geometry to the space. The result is a clean, architectural backdrop that balances minimalism with material richness. “When there’s a lot of movement or tonal variation in a room,” Erickson says, “Richlite’s simplicity helps those features shine.”Learn more about Richlite and Cedar and Stone's collaboration​.
