Located on Main Street in downtown Edmonds, Washington, Leftcraft is a casual and approachable restaurant and bar. The design uses rich materiality and time-worn patina to set the venue apart while juxtaposing the concept of old and new. Existing concrete walls and floors and tongue-and-groove Douglas fir ceilings were joined by faceted wood screen wrought from 200 two-by-six pieces of rough-sawn fir. Richlite Black Diamond etched with a pattern that references the custom screen, the waves of the nearby Puget Sound and the surrounding mountains compose the vertical portions of the bar. Skylights, clerestory windows and glass doors add buoyant light to the moody, compelling space.
