Opened in June 2026, the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music at Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey, is a 30,000-square-foot museum, archive, and performance venue dedicated to Bruce Springsteen and the broader story of American music.

Richlite Black Diamond was selected as part of the project’s focus on material health, responsible sourcing, and lower embodied carbon. The COOKFOX team referenced the Carbon Leadership Forum’s embodied-carbon baseline when evaluating materials and pursued LEED v4’s Social Equity Pilot credit. The center is LEED Gold certified and incorporates sustainably harvested mass timber, biophilic design, and energy-efficient systems, with nearly 97% of construction and demolition waste diverted from landfill.

Richlite was specified for millwork throughout the facility, including the lobby, retail, and archive research spaces. Its deep color and tactile surface complement the exposed timber, weathering steel, and natural materials that reflect Springsteen’s New Jersey roots and the surrounding landscape. Made from 100% recycled, FSC-certified paper, Richlite’s paper-composite construction provides lasting performance in high-use public spaces.

Across the center, Richlite brings together material performance, distinctive design, and responsible material selection—contributing to a space designed for gathering, learning, and preserving music history.
