Design: Cedar and Stone Saunas

In northern Minnesota, where winters are brutal and summers humid, Cedar & Stone designed a custom sauna to complement a Richlite-clad home, creating a cohesive, refined look built to endure. Wrapped entirely in Richlite, the sauna highlights the material’s clean, modern aesthetic and exceptional durability.

“What I love about Richlite is how it is equal parts simple, modern, and lasting,” says Joel Vikre, Co-Founder and Chief of Design & Innovation. Saunas push materials to the limit – with interiors over 200°F and exteriors facing subzero storms, but Richlite holds strong. It’s heat-resistant, low-maintenance, and dimensionally stable, staying intact without warping, cracking, or expanding.
