RESIDENTIAL + COMMERCIAL
Countertops are central in our daily lives, home or workplace. They're often at the heart of activity but seldom take center stage in conversations. In reality, most stone, solid surfaces and laminated materials tend to have a cold and uninviting appearance, lacking in personality. Richlite® paper-based countertops present a notable exception. These surfaces offer a tactile softness and a natural aesthetic that stands out. Richlite has the remarkable ability to infuse warmth and character into space, sparking conversations both at home and in professional settings.
Richlite is heat resistant up to 350°F. Due to its high heat resistance, the material does not need additional protection near stoves.
Richlite is denser and more durable than wood. The material is resistant to scratches but, like most surfaces, may scratch. Cut marks will appear if it is used as a direct cutting surface.
The color is solid all the way through the material. Since paper is a natural product derived from trees there are natural variations in the color of the finished product.
Richlite is NSF Certified and doesn’t harbor the colonization of bacteria which has made it a favorite among commercial chefs.

Richlite is extremely durable. It is stronger than stone and solid surfaces and can endure long spans and cantilevers without additional support.
Due to the natural variation in the paper fibers, Richlite has subtle striations running lengthwise in the material. This is less apparent on dark colors but still may exist.
PATINA + AGING
Over time and with use, Richlite will develop a seasoned appearance. There will be more luster in areas of heavier use. Overall, it will appear softer and deeper in tone. It is similar to the manner in which natural wood products deepen in tone over time.
Generally speaking, Richlite material resists stains quite well. As with all countertop materials, there is potential for staining. Most spills and light stains may be cleaned with a damp sponge.
