Hotel Chocolat partnered with OPTO International to bring its experiential retail concept to the United States, starting with two cafe locations in Chicago and eventually expanding to the Oakbrook location, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on premium chocolate, craftsmanship, and immersive discovery. Sustainability and nature-inspired materials were central to the design, shaping a refined yet approachable retail environment.

Richlite in the Rosedale colorway is featured throughout the space on custom storage bunkers, shelving, and window plinths.

Finished through a multi-stage sanding process, the material delivers a smooth, tactile surface that complements the rich tones of chocolate while providing the durability and performance required for a high-traffic retail setting.

Integrated within modular merchandising fixtures and alongside the signature LED-lit “Wall of Chocolate,” Richlite helps create a cohesive, flexible, and elevated in-store experience aligned with Hotel Chocolat’s brand values.
